Septorhinoplasty Recovery Process

The septum is the bone and cartilage wall which divides your nose into two distinct nostrils. As the septum is moved to one side of your nose, a deviated septum occurs.

Some people are born with a deviated septum, But an injury to their nose Could be a cause. There is one nasal passage in most persons with a deviated septum that is much narrower than the other. This can cause breathing problems. Frequent nosebleeds and facial pain can be other signs of a deviated septum. Surgery is the only way for a deviated septum to be replaced.

A surgical procedure for repairing a deviated septum is septoplasty. The septum is straightened by septoplasty to allow for better airflow through your nose.

The Recovery process :

Unless major complications occur, septoplasty is normally performed as an outpatient procedure. This means that on the same day as the procedure after the anesthesia has worn off, you will be free to go home. In order to control bleeding, the nose will be swollen, sore, and lined with cotton. A day or two after surgery, the wrapping may be removed. You will also be given pain medicine by your doctor as needed.

You would likely be asked by your doctor to stop aspirin, ibuprofen, and other blood-thinning medications. This is done after the operation to lower the risk of bleeding issues.

In order to reduce swelling and encourage recovery, you can also restrict your physical activity for several weeks after surgery. This involves most types of physical exercise, such as running, weight lifting, and contact sports. Such tasks can raise your blood pressure and lead to serious bleeding.

Tips for a faster recovery include:

  • Raise your head at night to keep the swelling down.
  • Do not blow your nose for at least three days after surgery.
  • Wearing shirts that button on the front so you don’t have to pull your clothes over your head.

The wound in your nose will heal relatively quickly, and immediately after the operation, your breathing is likely to improve. The overall process of recovery, however, can be long. It may take up to a year for cartilage and other nasal tissues to completely settle into their new form.

Septorhinoplasty is going to be more expensive than rhinoplasty because it’s basically two operations at once.

But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s still cheaper than anywhere in the UK and most of Europe.

The average septorhinoplasty cost in the UK is around £4500-7000£, which means you can save up to 50% if you have your operation in Turkey.

The fact that septorhinoplasty cost in Turkey is considerably lower than the septorhinoplasty cost in Europe or the USA has nothing to do with the quality. Nose job costs are lower in Turkey because labor and running costs are inexpensive.
